PHILLIP MILADIN
Coach Phil with his son Malakai at a local jiu-jitsu tournament
Bio: I currently hold a Brown belt under Justin Renick, I've trained 5 going on 6 yrs most of it jiu-jitsu. I fell in love with the sport after my first competition. I first wanted to learn how to defend myself in case a situation ever happened. Now it's therapy for me. If I'm having a bad day or something is heavy on my mind, I'll go train and for however long I'm on those mats, my mind is completely focused on what I'm doing right then and there, nothing else. I want that for others, a therapy session, a place for whoever to create a bond with their brothers and escape life's trials for a short time.
See yall on the mats!
-Coach Phil
Bio:I’m currently a blue belt under Phillip Miladin. I started Jiu Jitsu in 2018 looking for something my son and I could do together and it quickly became a big part of our lives. Whenever we travel we always try to find local gyms to cross train at and have always enjoyed learning from different perspectives and meeting new people. I’ve never seen anything else that can bring strangers together from so many backgrounds the way Jiu Jitsu does, when you’re on the mats nothing else matters. To help coach at Guerrilla Warfare and see this team grow is something I’m really looking forward to.
Bio: I began my Jiu Jitsu journey in 2017 by casually attending classes with a friend. After a short time involved I became obsessed with training and found a new passion. Jiu Jitsu for me is freeing and humbling. I take pride in always trying to better myself as a practitioner, coach, and competitor.
Bio: I’m currently a grey belt under Phillip Miladin. I started Jiu Jitsu in 2018 when I was 8. I thought it looked cool and thought it would be fun to learn how to defend myself. It didn’t take long for me to love it. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to other gyms and train with new people across the country and have made a lot of friends through Jiu Jitsu. I love to compete and hope to be able to continue doing it at higher levels as I advance. I’m really excited to help coach and to be a part of Guerrilla Warfare Jiu Jitsu and look forward to passing on as much as I can to other students.
Bio: I started wrestling in 2019. I joined because it was something people said I couldn't do, and I was determined to do what seemed to be the impossible. I wrestled on Varsity for 4 years at Brazoswood Highschool. In that time I became a 2x district champion, 2x regional placer, 2x state qualifer, and for two years was top 16 in the state. I fell in love with grappling because of the sense of family it creates and the confidence it gives. I am extremely excited to help coach at Guerrilla Warfare so that I can bring a new element to the program since wrestling and Jiu-jitsu compliment one another while also furthering my own education in Jiu-jitsu.
